The cover story of Designing Lighting magazine’s October/November issue reports on the new “beacon of learning” at the renovated Liberty Science Center in Jersey City.
“Focus Lighting choreographed the visitor’s journey from the ground up. Guests enter a glass elevator rising through a five-story atrium” of the Robert Wood Johnson III Tower. And RGBW Series 2 RibbonLyte from Acolyte outlines “each window and casts light onto silver-painted elevator shaft walls,” Designing Lighting reports.
“Inside the 9th floor event space, flexibility was critical,” the magazine says. Focus Lighting installed remote controlled accent lighting above. And they created additional light layers with RGBW Series 2 RibbonLyte integrated in “toe kicks and soffits, grazing roller shades with color.” Focus Lighting specified custom fixtures with AS23 channel and square milky lenses.
The result? A true nighttime landmark visible to millions of people in Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and along the nearby New Jersey Turnpike.
