GENLED Brands set to move into larger European HQ, add new equipment
The future keeps getting brighter for GENLED Brands. Continued growth has led the company to relocate its European headquarters to a new facility in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The parent company for international LED manufacturers Acolyte (architectural lighting) and AgiLight (signage lighting), GENLED Brands established a European headquarters in nearby Breukelen, The Netherlands, in 2021. Rising demand and the companies’ escalating production in Europe have driven the need for increased staff, equipment and stock storage as GENLED Brands has quickly outgrown its current location.
The new Amsterdam facility includes 2,000 sq m for offices for the full European sales and accounting teams, a development and testing section for the engineering team, and more operations space for production, assembly, storage and shipping. The company has detailed plans to expand into another 3,500 sq m soon afterwards.
GENLED Brands will create new clean rooms for SMT circuit board machines, polyurethane treatment systems and LED encapsulation and end cap machines that allow for quick custom cuts on silicone products like LED neon and IP68 RibbonLyte. The company will also incorporate a new photometrics room for IES testing with state-of-the-art Viso Systems light measurement tools.
“After two years of preparation, GENLED Brands is consolidating its signage equipment and purchasing new machines to support our architectural division,” said Scott Vontobel, CEO & president of GENLED Brands, who relocated to The Netherlands to oversee this new chapter in the company’s history. “From staff to equipment and storage space, this relocation gives us the ability to serve our customers even better.
“We look forward to getting everything installed and ready to start accepting designers to tour our new European manufacturing facility in early 2025,” Vontobel added. “We’re excited to be able to offer more products and complete lines that will carry the MADE IN EUROPE logo — including power supplies — by mid-2025.”
Operations to continue through the move
GENLED Brands has the keys and has taken over the space. The move will commence in early November and should be complete by the end of the 4th quarter. The company will continue operations throughout the transition, and the European staff will be fully accessible with support from GENLED Brands’ international team.
