Acolyte adds 20 new channel extrusions PLUS industry-leading IP69 RibbonLyte

Acolyte has introduced an amazing array of new aluminum channel extrusions and a major advance in RibbonLyte waterproofing. Several of the 20 new channels incorporate comforting glare reduction features, including louvers, built-in glare shields and set-back lenses. There are also six exciting new Simply Clean (mud-in) channels for seamless, flush presentation in drywall and ceiling applications, and a unique pair of channels with multiple connection options that don’t require tricky miter cuts. Acolyte has also added an exciting innovation with IP69 waterproofing now available across a big part of our RibbonLyte range.

Louvers

We now offer nine new linear channels with Grille or Honeycomb louvers for glare reduction. The louver insets let light shine straight down but block off-axis light that can cause glare from the sides. These channels include a small surface mounted channel (AS15L), a recessed channel (AR15L), a recessed angled channel (AR15AL), a corner channel (AC15L) and a small Simply Clean channel (SC15L) for mud-in installation. Two larger surface channels (AS22L and AS35L) feature a choice of Milky lenses, Prismatic lenses, and specialty 30° or 60° Wall Washing and Grazer lenses. Another pair of larger surface mounted (AS29L) and recessed (AR29L) channels feature a choice of Milky lens or 20° Grazer lens. All four of the larger channels also include Grille and Honeycomb louver options.

Built-In Glare Shields

Two of our latest channel additions include convenient built-in glare shields. Like a horse blinder, these channels feature an extended aluminum wall or shield that blocks light beams from direct line of sight. The first is a narrow, low profile channel (AS1GS) with a Milky lens, while the second is a larger profile (AS20GS) that features a clear, focused Grazer lens with a narrow asymmetrical 30×110° beam angle.

Set-Back Lenses

Four of the new channels offer set-back lenses. Instead of a diffuser lens that sits flush to the extrusion, the lens is recessed deep inside an angled inset. This extra depth prevents any harsh side views. The surface mounted channel (AS24R) and recessed channel (AR24R) both offer Milky, Black, Clear or Frosted lenses. There are two new set-back Simply Clean mud-in fixtures as well. The first (SC24R) features a Milky lens with dual flanges, while the second (SC20C) fits 90° corners like ceiling or wall joints.

Simply Clean channels

In addition to our new Simply Clean louver and set-back lens channels, we have developed three more sleek mud-in fixtures. Simply Clean channels can create smooth lines of light flush with walls or ceilings. The smaller Simply Clean (SC10) is a recessed fixture with one flange for tight spaces. In addition, two new channels can be used to create hidden cove lighting: a recessed, curved channel (SC23) with a Milky lens and a recessed, curved corner channel (SC38C) that sits above sheetrock with a hidden Milky, Clear or Frosted lens.

Get connected

Finally, we have added two new surface mounted channels with concealed profiles and angled connectors that don’t require any tricky miter cuts in the corners. The first is a narrow, square surface mounted profile (AS21) with Milky, Black or Clear lenses. The second is an extra-wide, flat extrusion (AS31) with Milky, Square Milky, Black or Clear lenses. Rear cutouts and a raised raceway allow for hidden wires and mounting clips. Both channels feature T or X connectors as well as multiple 90° corner connectors that don’t require any miter cuts for ease of installation and guaranteed performance.

We’ve reached the peak … IP69

Acolyte has also developed waterproofing technology that brings its RibbonLyte to the top of the ingress protection scale! Our new IP69 RibbonLyte uses a high-grade UV-resistant polyurethane coating. It has been certified by independent testing to withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets at several angles.

To create this amazing product, Acolyte uses the same tightly binned top-quality LEDs, the same brilliant ICs and the same robust 3- or 4-oz. copper base for improved performance and heat dissipation. The molding process employs a special vacuum to eliminate any bubbling and cures sleek embedded end caps in place with a heat treatment. The stronger material creates a clear, slender profile that adds just 2.5 mm of thickness to our IP20 RibbonLyte.
