Acolyte, Illuminate project featured in Designing Lighting magazine

Acolyte was one of the manufacturers featured in a story about the new CarGurus headquarters in the March 2025 LEDucation” issue of Designing Lighting magazine.

The 200,000-sq-ft CarGurus HQ is located on the top 10 floors of a new 20-story building in downtown Boston. The lighting was designed by IA Interior Architects and specified through our great partners at Illuminate.

The massive project features Acolyte’s Static White Neon Silhouette at 3500K and RGBW Neon Apex in the accent lighting. Linea RibbonLyte is featured at the “Genius Bar.” The 10-story staircase features Acolyte’s SC4 (with 4.4 Static White Series 2 RibbonLyte at 3500K) fixtures. They are inset above each section, cut to length and custom angles to create a smooth line of light.

IA worked with CarGurus to create a road trip theme for each floor, giving every level a distinct identity.

“Automobiles were the inspiration,” Reetika Vijay, managing principal of IA Interior Architects, told Designing Lighting. “The design language of all lighting selections was contemporary, dynamic, and relating to automotive technology with a sense of speed and movement.”

The goal? To bring dimension and movement to each floor – and a LEED Gold certification.
