The Blues Hall of Fame honors those who have made the Blues timeless through performance, documentation or recording. Since its inception in 1980, the Blues Foundation has inducted more than 400 industry professionals, including some 130 performers, to the Blues Hall of Fame for their contributions and influence on the Blues. The organization’s roots are on the internet, but in May 2015 the Blues Foundation opened the doors to their first physical museum, in downtown Memphis. Across the street from the National Civil Rights Museum, which is built around the Lorraine Motel, visitors can learn about the rich history of the Blues, its influence on American popular music, and the people who made it what it is today. Eric Price of Memphis Lighting Sales chose 8.8 RGBW RibbonLyte from Acolyte to create a dynamic canopy across the entrance of the Blues Hall of Fame. It extends across the entire building front and continues inside. Our RGBW RibbonLyte offers stunning blues – and so many more colors that it easily creates eye-catching light effects. Should visitors join the statue of Little Milton at the entrance, they’ll enjoy some well-lit photo ops! And, to riff off Little Milton, if you need a custom LED light fixture, “We’re Gonna Make It!”
