Singh Tower is a mixed-use building developed by GN Management. It is comprised of 202 residences in the heart of Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey. The high-rise also contains ground-floor retail shops and 16,000 sq ft of office space. Luxury amenities include a fitness center, game room, bowling alley, golf simulator, podcast studio, and rooftop deck and lounge. The MVMK Architecture facade design features cantilevered balconies inside the building’s signature V, a playful addition to Jersey City’s skyline. Singh Tower’s alternating balconies and bold V are illuminated with color-changing RGBW Series 2 RibbonLyte from Acolyte.
For this challenging project, the powerhouse team at Facility Solutions Group asked Acolyte to develop a custom channel. The idea was to create a halo effect in long, decorative lines of light. Our solution? A unique bracket-shaped aluminum extrusion that features two rows of RibbonLyte aimed at the back of the channel. Now that channel delivers 886 feet of unbroken illumination across 21 floors of the 27-story tower. And RGBW Series 2 RibbonLyte is also embedded below glass balustrades at the edge of each balcony. LED light travels vertically through the slender handrails to manifest breathtaking textured patterns above the city. Everything was specified through Acolyte’s great partners at SLS, who programmed several creative colorful scenes. And now everyone is singing the praises of Jersey City’s newest high-rise!
