This tranquil setting in Beijing, China, actually caused quite a stir! The International Association of Lighting Designers bestowed an Award of Excellence on the project, which reclaimed an abandoned aqueduct. With a brilliant design by the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University and One Lighting Associates, the stunning Shimen Village Lounge Bridge uses 8.8 RGBW RibbonLyte® from Acolyte in two different channels, our AT2 surface mounted channel and AS20G, which features a grazer lens. The unique gabled structures create a serene interplay between light and shadow as pedestrians cross the Songyin River between Shimen and Shimen Xu. The color changing LEDs are tuned from warmer weekday tones to a bright white “market” light effect for the weekends. It was our honor to be specified for this amazing project.
